Sifting through the dense catalog of your headspace, you realize that memory isn't stored as phrases, but instead as incidental groups of imagery. It can creep up on you at unprecedented times that inevitably shift your perception of the past. Nostalgia can be seen as a form of reconstruction to freeze a memory, but also as a form of instruction to reform that mentality. Ruminating about the past in a series of cyclical waves, each involuntary flashback slowly begins to lose its vitality. What's left is a scatterbrained recollection of what once was and what might have been. It's A Lackluster Lapse of Longing.
