Flipping through the pages of the past to compare where I was a few days, months, or years ago, my books supply an endless cycle of inspiration for me. Stumbling across forgotten ideas that needed time to sit and evolve or discovering links of research from the past and present. Envisioning a detective’s red thread spread across each page connecting the pieces together that reveal a labyrinth of symbolism. They are the roots of every project and my most prized possession.
My books are a significant and integral part of my process. Always carrying one with me everywhere I go to write anything that comes to mind - research, notes, phrases, lyrics, poems, symbolism, sketches, etc. It’s the secret puzzle piece and blueprint to my work. Getting into the groove by treating it like a brain dump is important to my approach - as the more I write, the more I feel driven with a purpose and vision. I try to document and keep track of as much as I can.
