Sophia Hashemi is an interdisciplinary printmaker and collage artist from Austin, TX. She earned her BFA in Studio Art from the University of Texas at Austin in 2022 and is currently pursuing an MFA at Syracuse University, intricately exploring the tensions between the desire to communicate and the desire to hide within her work. Enamored with the limitless potentials of print, she's eagerly drawn to manipulate and transform the 2D medium into radical forms. Her work becomes a meditative exploration, offering a personal journey through the contours of existence. Inspired by themes of temporal existentialism and emotional metamorphosis, Hashemi's work serves as a contemplative exploration of our individual experiences, emotions, and surroundings.
