Kikimora is a character of an ancient Russian fairytale myth. The original tale follows the story of a tiny house spirit who was said to enter your house through a keyhole. This spirit would arrive because your house was a disorderly mess and would make your life a living nightmare until you clean up and she’d go away. Parents would tell this story to children in order to keep their rooms tidy. Inspired by this story, “The Tale of Kikimora’s Cave” follows this tiny house spirit entering your ear because you have a disheveled cluttered headspace. Opening this interactive piece, you find the book housed in an ear shaped box. As the story progresses, multiple panels flip and turn to reveal a sequence of awareness and triumph.
